Origin of the Name

  • It is actually named after its post-quantum one time signature scheme which sort of resembles a Haircomb if you are insane like Natasha is.
  • As mentioned in the puzzle, the original inspiration behind the scheme might have been an actual (physical) comb.

Haircomb Post-Quantum Signature Scheme

  • The Haircomb scheme is used to generate a public/private key pairs.
  • These key pairs serve as the wallets for Haircomb, any COMB in a public key address can be spent by the private key holder.
  • With the private key you can sign a value which can be verified against the public key.
